Default Second Healer?

So yeah... the reason I'm making a rit is because:

1) they are REALLY sexy
2) the are a unique class
3) they are SUPER sexy
4) they have cool skills
5) they are UBER sexy
6) my guild doesn't have any rits...

Oh, and did I mention they are the sexiest class? XDDD

So uhmmm I was wondering if like they could be like a second healer because my guild only has 2 monks for those huge battles/tournaments and I was wondering if Rits could be good healers, too!

There more a support healer(using splinter wep/ancestors rage/ect.),i wouldnt recomend using them to take over a monks job.

Yes they"can" heal very well, but there lack of self preservation and protection type skills hurts them.

I don't know what you mean about "huge battles/tournaments". You're talking about GvG there, right? Unless you're talking about AB.

Ritualists will never replace Monks when it comes to keeping people alive. They don't have nearly enough protective capability to uphold a party compared to how a Monk can, and the fact that Monks have a much stronger primary attribute compared to Ritualists too. In PvE, however, they probably could. Not as efficient though.

I really wouldn't choose a Rit these days in PvE outside of very few builds though. Splinter Barrage Ritualist, and... ... well, at 10 spec Splinter is already incredible and that's one of the only reasons to take a Ritualist. The party heals are also pretty good, however. Still usable though, and that's all that really matters.

I enjoy playing a ritualist in every aspect but healing, theyre a fun class.

FYI - I always found there healing obsolete except for keeping yourself alive.

Does that have anything to do with your thesis?

And yes, Rits CAN heal, but they aren't as good as monks. As support healers they are pretty good, but as for core heals, they're OK-Bad depends on the sitution.

I would argue that rits can "heal" just as well as monks. Seriously though, at 15 restoration magic I can heal for 180 with spirit light, easily matching a monk's heal. The only downside is their lack of protection type magic. Spirits work, but cannot compare with a monk. Also, the lack of hex removal and efficient condition removal still make rits more of a support healer.

Yeah that's what I meant... support healer. :P There will still be 2 monks in the GvG thing.... I'm just supporting with extra heals because I suck at everything else. XD

Rits only have one spot in your average balanced GvG and that is Flag running.
Plus for PvP you should just make a PvP character. Not worth it to make a PvE char with PvP as the end-goal.

Yes,it is worth making a pve char for pvp.

They look better, and since he's new to ritualist he would be much better off learning the basics of playing them in pve rather then making his team fail in pvp 200 times before he gets how they work.

For PvE they can fill a healers role with no problem.

In PvP they can also heal but its more support like stated above. Weapon of warding is one of the best skills since its an unstripable guardian/mending to stop melee damage. they are mostly used for flag running with protective was kaolie (or whatever) weapon of warding, a speed skill, and a couple other ones. But I would NOT replace the monk with the ritualist fully in pvp.

Spirits are easily destroyed and have super low armor AND burn, so, try to avoid spirit only support. but 1 or 2 are fine like life and something else.

And yes, they are SUPER sexy

ive never tried the splinter barrage in pvp so im not going to offer advice on that

but rits can't do what monks can do
rits provide decent healing and some condition removal, i dont think they got any hex removal skills

but preservation recuperation life spirit light vengeful weapon spirit light weapon are all decent heals

so if your looking to simply assist with healing then yeah make a rit and help out

Only in AB.

But I HAVE seen rits carry it in GvG and cast it on the melee's. No barraging though. Ritualist is more a support class in my opinion, like a paragon. It buff's allies either with defensive or offensive spells (ancestors rage weapon of warding etc etc) that's what it does best...in my opinion of course.

^ That's good. I never like to fight in the front lines anyway. I always die. XD

I can't really be a main healer, either, since I'm not really reliable. :P

I just hide and support... that's why I like rits and paragons! Funny cuz those are my two main classes.

Rits can heal, but not as well as a monk and monks have more and better red bars stay up skills. The good thing about rits though is that unlike monks, they have a pair of res skills that can be used in the middle of a fight.

I have feeling that this post already exists somewhere.........

Rits can heal, but bad at preventing spikes, but a Mo/Rit is pretty good actually.
